Password manager
Standard, Pro and Max plans include a password manager at vault.purepost.net. It is compatible with the free Bitwarden apps and browser extensions.
First-time setup
- Open vault.purepost.net and choose Use single sign-on.
- Sign in with your PurePost account.
- Create a master password. This encrypts your vault on your device. We cannot see it or reset it — if you forget it, the vault cannot be opened. Write it on a printed recovery sheet by hand.
The Secure your account checklist walks through all of this in about ten minutes.
Your PurePost sign-in and passkeys, kept in the vault
With the browser extension signed in, sign in to your PurePost account once and choose Save when the extension asks Save login?. After that the extension keeps it current: when you change your PurePost password it asks Update password?, and when you add a passkey it can store the passkey in your vault, so it works on all your devices.
This happens on your device, encrypted with your keys. PurePost never copies your password into your vault, and could not: we cannot read or write your vault, and that is the point.
Emergency access
Settings → Emergency access in the web vault lets someone you trust reach your vault if something happens to you. They need their own PurePost vault (for example a member of your family plan). You choose whether they can only view items or take over the account, and how long they must wait. If they request access you get an email and can refuse; if you don’t answer, access opens when the waiting period ends. They never learn your master password.
Browser extension and phone app
Install the Bitwarden extension or app, open Settings → Self-hosted environment (on the sign-in screen), set the server URL to https://vault.purepost.net, then sign in with single sign-on.
Importing from another password manager
In the web vault go to Tools → Import data, choose your previous manager’s format, and upload its export file. Delete the export file afterwards — it is not encrypted.
Exporting your vault
Tools → Export vault downloads your items as an encrypted or plain JSON/CSV file.
